Designed by Covell, Matthews   Partners and completed in 1965, this complex includes the soaring City Tower and the famous textured concrete facades that overlook Piccadilly Gardens. Once controversial, it is now celebrated as a masterpiece of the Space Age aesthetic and a symbol of Manchester's post-war ambition.
